"Positive" Personality Traits:


Genuine :.

"I love eet-- I love eet, oh! I love so zery much, thank you!"

Bijoux thrusts themselves full-force and full-passion into nearly everything and the result is them having a deep sincerity as a person in just about everything, give or take critical situations-- they tend to be honest, whether for the better or worse-- and ever genuine, expressing only their most sincere and authentic feelings.
Usually, this is a positive thing- they sincerely love this, they sincerely love that, and their legitimate love and passion is wholly evident-- but, when they sincerely hate something, there is no hiding it. They have a habit of blurting out these things whether the sincerity is necessary or not.


Sweet, in an odd way :.

"Zis is your dog? Doez he 'ave ze girlfriend? I will find him one, be right back-- dog wedding."

Bijoux sometimes has an odd way of going about things, but-- often they have somewhat sweet intentions behind these actions and ways of going about, so however bizarre or offbeat these occurrences might feel it's arguably endearing to whomsoever is subject to them.
This certainly doesn't fly for everyone, however-- some people might find it erratic, eccentric and odd, no matter how well-intentioned. However which ways people react, the fact that Bijoux takes these actions purely from dearness and in an over-eager attempt to be kind is inalterable.


Perpetually optimistic :.

"Is, 'ow zey say-- only up from ze bottom! Is best to smile."

They're always looking up and to the optimistic, "glass is half full" side of life. Bijoux's bout with cancer means that they've trained themselves to always see the silver lining-- having brushed close with death on multiple occasions, it has left Bijoux with a bright and bubbly attitude, as they can't help but see the ups and the positives... as a near-death experience, naturally, thoroughly reinvigorated their appreciation for being alive.
It's not in Bijoux's nature to mope, and although they've experienced depression in childhood-- having overcome so much and still be breathing has filled Bijoux with gratitude and optimism, and they try to shed this attitude onto anyone they can.


Imperturbable :.

"Oh! Yelling, oh-- eez okay, sit down, I will get water. Shh!"

Bijoux is nigh unflappable-- it takes a lot to upset them, or even cause them to so much as bat an eyelid. Their response to most situations is an unwaveringly cheery attitude and attempted understanding. They very seldom get offended or take things to heart, so, needless to say-- when something does cut past Bijoux's airy jovial attitude, it hits them hard. Hard.
Fortunately, it takes a lot to get to the point and they are, for the most part, imperturbable and even-tempered, flustered by nothing-- whether it be a sexual advance, anger, or otherwise-- they keep a cool and ever-upbeat head.


Soft :.

Bijoux's entire person is... soft, in the nonliteral sense. Soft. There is no other way to describe it-- they're soft, soft like baby bunny.

Artless and naive :.

With Bijoux's good intentions and their ever-positive attitude comes an unfortunate consequence, derived from their sometimes-senseless merrymaking: naivety. The language barrier and cultural misapprehension when it comes to aspects of Japan that Bijoux faces don't particularly help with this, as not only are there things that Bijoux doesn't understand due to ignorance and senseless gaiety- there are things they struggle to understand through the cultural differences and language, amalgamating into an inconvenient and less-than-endearing naviety that acts as a hindrance to them and those around them.



Culturally pretentious :.

"Oh, non-- it's not as good as ze French one, zis is copy!"

Bijoux loves France.
..... Bijoux LOVES France too much.

They're a rather patriotic person, but their nationalistic attitude bridges into unattractive cultural pretentiousness-- and in some cases, almost cultural supremacy-- as they're constantly and never-endingly referencing French culture as superior to the Japanese culture they're currently surrounded by. Partly, this may be motivated by a smidgen of homesickness and genuine love for their country and culture that they're attempting to share and talk about- but mainly, it tends to come off as obnoxious and a tad inconsiderate.

Or a lot inconsiderate, as they're prone to doing it loudly and rudely (though they're admittedly ignorant to their rudeness) in public places and within earshot of many Japanese people.



Flippant :.

"Doezn't matter! Blah blah, move on, yes!"

They can be dismissive, and irresponsibly so-- Bijoux's jolliness leads to them being glib and even somewhat fickle or thoughtless in their haste to look for greener pastures, and this dismissive carelessness of theirs can lead to offhand comments that can be interpreted as rude or inappropriate and an outright irreverent attitude.


Subservient and very passive :.

"Whatezzer you want-! Is okay!"

Bijoux is, frankly, something of a doormat. They react well under pressure, but they don't assert themself-- they're never aggressive, they never push for anything or protest against anything. They let themself be swept along and they bend under the will and want of other people rather than paying attention to their own needs.

Bijoux doesn't think there's anything wrong with this-- and despite their overbearing cheeriness, they have a relatively low sense of self-worth and esteem, so as a result they tend to other people rather than themself, and believe in other people's words rather than their own. When things get hot-- Bijoux stays cool, but remits immediately. They're constantly relenting and shaping things to suit the requirements that other people have set and will inconvenience themself-- and some other people, too-- in order to appease them.
They usually don't say anything when faced with decisions or whatnot and prefer to take a passive role, allowing themself to be moved and manipulated in any which way without complaint. This shouldn't be confused with selflessness; Bijoux is not selfless, they're unnecessarily submissive to their own detriment.

Bijoux has a deep passion for a number of social and political issues, so, naturally-- they have a powerful political opinion, and a heavy left-wing leaning that they will vivaciously defend. They also, contrastingly-- have a deep mistrust for elected government politicians and whatnot, and enjoy, for a want of better words- shit-talking them to no end. Bijoux has been known to attend various political rallies and feels strongly about charity.


Impassioned, full-hearted: loves deeply :.

"You ez my most favourite absolute favourite human in ze whole world."

When Bijoux loves something, whether it be a passionate romantic love or whether it's the love one can have for a particularly enjoyable television series-- they love something, deeply and fully and with all their heart. Their passion is unrivalled and utterly staggering. They throw themself into it full-force and with all their heart.
This, of course, can make them somewhat vulnerable in romantic relationships, particularly to being taken advantage of-- but it does leave something to be said for Bijoux, as the intensity of their love is truly something to behold, for better or worse.

Biography !!!

Early Childhood.... :.

Bijoux was born a Parisian. They were born to father from the Basque regions of France and to a thoroughbred Parisian mother while the two were in a de facto relationship, whilst Bijoux's father was visiting Paris- Bijoux was born male, and was raised in a considerably liberal and free-thinking sort of way. Bijoux's father left when they were relatively young so they were reared primarily by their mother for the first early years of their life.

They attended a private Christian school and lived well. Eventually their mother married to a well-paid photojournalist who lived in Paris, who moved in with them and their mother when Bijoux was roughly seven or so years old-- he moved in along with his two thirteen-year-old daughters, now Bijoux's step-sisters. They all lived together in a Paris apartment with comfortable finance, although the apartment was cramped. Bijoux's step-sisters shared a room and Bijoux slept in a pull-out couch bed in the living room but they were content with their lives. Bijoux and their step-sisters attended the same school and Bijoux's mother had a strong relationship with her husband that didn't seem likely to crumble.

Then Bijoux got leukaemia.

Adolescence.... :.

Bijoux was diagnosed with chronic acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL)-- a blood cancer, a type of leukaemia most prevalent in children-- when they were about eleven years old. The treatment costs shook their family's financial stability, lambasting it into nothing-- they were constantly short on money, though they managed to get by. The cancer had a profound effect on the previously quietly happy family. Bijoux was taken out of school to undergo further treatment-- ALL is considered to have a high rate of cure, so there was high hopes that the cancer would have as minimal an effect on Bijoux's life as possible.
It was the usual story, typical of every person who battles with cancer-- the chemotherapy made their hair fall out, the drugs affected their functionality, the cancer hurt. Bijoux was twelve and chronically depressed and always in hospital.

By the time that Bijoux reached fifteen, things appeared to be looking up slightly- signs of the cancer were beginning to disappear, and they were considered well enough to be able to attend school again. By the time that Bijoux had graduated high-school most signs of the cancer were gone.
The following years of respite and relative health while Bijoux was in beauty school were brief as come their twenty-first birthday, signs of the childhood cancer were beginning to reappear. Initially Bijoux received preventative treatment for it while in Paris with their family. At this point on their life they were beginning to question many things about themself; namely their sexuality and their gender identity, both of which had been unaddressed during their adolescence due to their preoccupation with their physical health.

Bijoux resolved to try and live their life to the fullest. This meant doing things that made them comfortable, expressing themself, going on a long-delayed journey of self-discovery that should have been taken in adolescence: and moving to Japan, where they could continue their chemotherapy treatments and also undergo an adventure and experience new things and meet new exciting people.
And, hopefully, recover. If they don't, though, Bijoux is not too worried or scared. They feel like they like who they are, like they are happy with who they are and comfortable in their own skin, finally-- and like a great experience is just waiting around the corner.
